This healthy french toast is lower in carbs than a traditional version because it has reduced-carb whole wheat bread and is topped with sugar-free syrup instead of powdered sugar.

  1. In a large, shallow bowl, whisk together egg substitute, skim milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar.
  2. Dip bread into mixture, but do not soak.
  3. Lightly coat a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Arrange dipped bread in skillet, and cook, in batches if necessary, until browned on each side.
  5. Serve with syrup.
