When you visit with your doctor, take a list of questions that you’d like to talk about with him/her, and don’t leave the office until they’ve all been answered.
Your list should include target blood pressure and cholesterol levels, nutrition and exercise goals, medications, necessary blood work and when you should have your next checkup.
I do find that I get the most out of my appointments when I ask all of my questions. Don’t be afraid – most doctors love to educate!
