Most of us get together with friends or go on dates for activities that center on eating and food.
Make it a point to try something else instead – when was the last time you swung on a swing? Rode bikes or went hiking with friends? Bowling, laser tag, kite flying, kickball, badminton – these are all fun ways to socialize while shifting your metabolism up a notch.

Having friends and social networks is great protection for your heart, too. The adult play date is a great way to make exercise a whole lot more fun. One of my favorite places is the Rivanna trail system–suitable for every level of fitness.
Great advice! I feel so much better after meeting a friend for a hike than after meeting for a meal or coffee/pastry! And it’s free!
