She received her journalism degree from the University of Georgia prior to moving to New York City, where she worked at Rolling Stone and Mademoiselle magazines. She was on staff at Creative Loafing Atlanta and then led the editorial team at Plow & Hearth catalog in Virginia prior to making the move to healthcare marketing in 2007.
